The
Spiritualist
May 2008
The PSC theme for May:
Tapping in to the
Energy of Spirit!
As we commune with spirit we open our hearts to love.
We know that love is the way to spiritual unfoldment;
and therefore we pray to God, our Father and Mother,
that we may become love;
and in becoming more loving we shall become wiser,
and stronger in the power of God.
May this Holy Trinity of love, wisdom and power
become manifest in our hearts and lives. Amen
~From Spiritual Unfoldment I, White Eagle

Pastor's Corner
Greetings Dear Ones,
I have been enjoying the wonderful weather and have just rekindled a new passion. I am planting an organic herb garden. The beds are also ready for planting vegetables and more flowers are going in next. I am creating a "sacred garden." I bet most of you do not know that my 1st College Degrees are in the area of Horticulture. I do remember the business, plants and floral designing parts. I am finding they are still very much a part of me. For many years I used to manage and design in a Flower Shop here in Downtown Rochester. I found great joy in creating masterpieces of color, doing custom weddings and playing in the soil up to my elbows like my Godfather taught me. It grounded and connected me to Mother Earth. It always "filled my soul."
Some of those wonderful life experiences include: working in a family business, interior & exterior landscaping, and working in greenhouses. The colors and smells still "remind" me of what heaven must smell like! At least my part of it! *smile* This has been a "forgotten" part of my core essence since I stopped doing weekly floral arrangements for the platform at PSC years ago. The Pastor & Board used to give me a monthly allowance to bring in fresh flowers for Spirit each week. In my new search for Joy and finding a healthier, happier me..... I have renewed this passion once again.
Yep, I believe just maybe those plants found me again. I hear them calling me too. Something the Shaman in Peru told me: to listen to the flora, work deeper in the plant medicine. So I am listening. Following my path as healer by growing my own herbal sacred medicine. To help me and those who seek it. This journey, with all of its twists and turns, still takes my breath away. I am amazed at the synchronicity I am finding everywhere in this amazing life of mine.
Celebrate our Great Mother Earth. Plant more trees and flowers. Be one with the Great Spirit. And for those of you who are mothers....take time to celebrate YOU!
The Joy Seeker,
~Pastor Robin

In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole, and complete,
and yet life is ever changing.
There is no beginning and no end,
only a constant cycling and recycling of substance and experiences.
Life is never stuck or static or stale, f
or each moment is ever new and fresh.
I am one with the very Power that created me,
and this Power has given me the power to create my own circumstances.
I rejoice in the knowledge that I have the power of my own mind
to use in any way I choose.
Every moment of life is a new beginning point as we move from the old.
This moment is a new point of beginning for me right here and now.

The beauty of our souls shines in many ways.
The greatest of these is love.
In the spirit of loving kindness, every day a little ugliness is removed;
our perspective on life grows broader and deeper.
In the spirit of love, our lives become fresher, our souls humbler;
evil seems to disappear,
and we learn to distinguish sinner from the sin.
Do I see the good in people?
Higher Power, let me walk in your love and see the good in all things.

Spiritual Healing News & Notes!
Extended Spiritual Healing
Third Sundays following the Service & at All Message Services
Spiritual Healing is an amazingly powerful form of mediumship and gift of Spirit. Our PSC healers are eager to share this gift with you. Join us after the service on third Sundays and at the All Message Services on third Wednesday nights. (7pm) Love donations are welcomed. All Healers are asked to meet with Kathy Manikowski or Pastor Robin before their first session to learn the new healing protocols for these settings.
Spiritual Healers Will Wear White!
PSC is asking our wonderful healers to begin wearing white shirts/blouses/jackets when offering spiritual healing. Pastor Robin has been receiving messages from Spirit about this for several years now. Along with our new lighter paint colors in the sanctuary, white will help us channel God's energy even more clearly. With white as a background, we will all eventually be able to see aura colors and healing color rays more clearly while healing is being offered. We would like to have all healers in white by the first Sunday in July. There will be a hanging rack set up in the fellowship hall for those who would like to keep their shirts at PSC. The fashion is up to you - but please no t-shirts or sleeveless shirts!! Questions -contact Kathy M, sunflowernl@aol.com, 924-9518.
Thank You!!
To all of our PSC Angels who step up and take care of spiritual business. You take out the trash, weed the garden, serve on the Board, host events, volunteer at fundraisers, return the bottles, clean the church, wash the towels, replace the light bulbs, bring in flowers, sit in development circles, teach classes, speak on Sundays, share your mediumship & healing gifts, donate supplies.... All this while fighting to survive in an area of drug abuse and crime. Thank you for walking your talk.
Help Us Restore Our Antique Chairs! Make a special donation so we can restore the four chairs that were in the original Plymouth Spiritualist Church Building! See Pastor Robin for details.
Inspirations from Kass Petty, Student Minister
When we contemplate the unfathomable depth of space
or listen to the silence in the early hours just before sunrise,
something within us resonates with it as if in recognition.
We then sense the vast depth of space as our own depth,
and we know that precious stillness that has no
form to be more deeply who we are
than any of the things that make up the content of our life.

Dreams, Symbols, & Signs from Spirit
Part of my way to a deeper understanding of my spirituality became a bit more clear during the Dreams, Symbols, and Signs from Spirit Workshop lead by Pastor Robin on Friday, March 28th. A small group of us took a look at how Spirit uses symbols to communicate to us in our daily lives. Those signs and symbols are present when we go about the business of driving, walking, working, relaxing, and dreaming. By recording the things of which we take note, journaling details from our dreams, and interpreting personal reactions to these, we begin to learn a common symbolic language that enables our guides and ourselves to understand each other in a deeply personal manner. This symbolic language is part of the foundation of the path spiritualism has designed for each of us. For me, it is a necessary beginning. ~Alice Lombardo

A Generous Flow of Intention!
Start your receiving giving by giving receiving! What? This sentence looks
like it has five verbs! Or, two verbs - one watching the other one looking
in a mirror! In any case, they speak to the Flow of Intention talked about
by Dr. Wayne Dyer and many others. The Universe is an ebb and flow of energies
- all energies of all things in all ways. The energy of abundance also
works in this ebb and flow motion. Giving engages receiving engages giving.
Plymouth Spiritualist Church acknowledges this wonderful ebb and flow of
giving receiving. We thank the Universe, Infinite Intelligence, Strength
and Love to be Plymouth Spiritualist Church. We support our structure,
our congregation and our community riding this great giving receiving wave.
The Universe is generous and just needs a "Start" to turn on
the flow. Engage it with us, with thanks, love and light. it's a great
ride!

We're Working on Access!!
Your Board, with the help of Francine
Martella, is working to secure a chair lift. Do you know of a company or individual that could donate one? We hope to provide full access
to our sanctuary. Say a little prayer for this endeavor!
We need you, We want you, We really got to have you......
Sign up to help out at Plymouth events. We need
to hold fund raisers to pay our bills. We need your help to make them happen, and you meet
the nicest people doing it!!!!
Please Be Generous
Our beautiful church only exists because
people like you had enough faith to pledge their financial
support. We are dependent on our offertory collections to
pay our bills. Plymouth receives NO other financial support
besides what we ourselves create. If you believe in the message
of continuous spiritual life and in the good work that we
do here, then please be generous with your donations. Thank
you for all you do to make Plymouth the loving, supportive,
spiritual home that it is!
Life Long Learning
Mediumship is a learning process - we
are all perpetual students. We never know it all. There is always
a new teacher, a new approach, a new class. The more we learn
the stronger we become. Our development takes time, commitment,
practice and patience. Plymouth is a wonderful place to grow
and learn!
Let's Talk About Spiritual
Counseling
As we work on our Spiritual Development
we usually come up with quite a few questions! You have probably
noticed how often Pastor Robin is swamped with well-wishers and
folks with questions after each service. Please feel free to talk
to one of the Board members or Pastor Robin if you have basic
questions about Spiritualism and Plymouth Church. However if you
are looking for more detailed spiritual counseling please make
an appointment to talk privately with Pastor Robin in her office.
Counseling fees run at $25 per half hour. You can pick up a brochure
which describes other services Pastor Robin offers. Pastor Robin
will work with anyone to design payment plans, alternatives and
schedules. Thank you for understanding that our gifted and loving
Pastor is also a mother, healer and medium with only so many hours
in her day. We need to support her financially so she can support
us!!
Healing & Mediumship
Please be aware that it is
Plymouth's policy that our Spiritual Healers need to have taken
the healing class here at Plymouth. We also ask any visiting
or new mediums, who are not NSAC certified, to take Plymouth's
mediumship class before serving in church, even if you have already
been giving messages. We welcome everyone to participate
in helping Plymouth grow and prosper in the Light of Spirit!
Church
Building Use
We are now ready to offer our building for use by approved
groups or individuals. Pick up a flier with details of requested donations and
uses. Spread the word - this can be a great way for us to raise funds! See Pastor Robin with questions.
Shared Joy is Doubled Joy!
Pastor Robin is pleased to announce that she will continue to share some
church duties and pleasures with Plymouth Trustees and members! You
may notice new faces chairing services, speaking from the podium, making
announcements, healing, and offering Spirit messages. We have quite
a few new Spiritual Healers and hope to add to our roster of student mediums
and certified mediums. As a matter of fact we have several Plymouth
members pursuing their Spiritual education through NSAC courses. We
hope this will lead to many NSAC certified healers, mediums and pastors
- yes, pastors! There is room at Plymouth for everyone to serve.
Pastor Robin will occasionally be out of town serving other Spiritualist
churches. Please support all those who take over the home camp while
she's gone!! We certainly need more mediums who are comfortable serving
in church and at the All Message Services. So please sign up for
mediumship development workshops. Come to development circles. Get
up and give that message in church - we believe in you!
Thank You Plymouth Angels!
Keep an eye out for little paper shapes on our front
door with items you can buy to keep Plymouth running smoothly.
Take the paper and bring back the goodie! As we work to meet the
challenge of paying our monthly bills you really help make a difference
with each small purchase. Thank you for all you do to make Plymouth
such a loving church.
Interested in Joining Plymouth? Pick up a membership form, talk to a board member, attend a Philosophy class and join the joy!! We ask prospective new members to attend Plymouth regularly for at least 6 months before joining - to make sure that this is your spiritual home!! Membership categories include Member, Associate, and Junior.
